What's Going ON?

I have a brief, yet simple question.
How come the catalog of some bands disappears from iTunes after a while?
I wanted to buy the song "High And Dry" by Def Leppard (don't ask, just go with it) and it wasn't there. Their entire 80's catalog - GONE!
I know it was there earlier because I bought a song from that album earlier on iTunes.
Also, the Motley Crue discography totally shrunk.
What's going on?
