Time: 5:33.46 PM
Date: January 20, 2007
Place: Crawfordsville, Indiana. In Smed's Honda CR-V, currently driving down Grant Avenue toward Crawfordsville High School.
State of Mind: Good, though having just woke up from a nap 15 minutes before, as the birthday party got to him. (Overdose of cake, of course.)
Action: Smed, while driving, grabs his cell phone to make a call. In scrolling through his directory, he notices a certain number.
Realizing that he really should delete this number, he attempts to do so. In doing so, hits the GREEN button (for send) instead of the button calling for OPTIONS.
He stares at the screen, as it says "Calling XXXX", after a second he realizes what he has done, and hits the red STOP button approximately 91 times.
Smed takes a deep breath, and actually then performs the action to delete the number and the contact details, wondering why he didn't do it sooner.
Calls a friend, gets her voice mail, tells her what happened, and concludes by saying, "I'm an idiot, of course!"
The moral of the story? Smed shouldn't drive and use a cell phone 15 minutes after waking up from a nap. Son, you just can't multi-task when you're not sharp.
